About Lisa Daily

Lisa Daily, USA Today bestselling author and nonfiction book coach

Lisa Daily is a USA Today bestselling author and one of the top book coaches in the US who helps entrepreneurs, coaches, and creators write, publish, and market profitable nonfiction and self-help books.

Hi, I’m Lisa Daily.

I help authors plan, write, publish, and sell books that actually work—without overwhelm, guesswork, or wasted effort.

I’m a USA Today bestselling author, an award-winning traditionally and independently published writer, and one of the most trusted book coaches in the nonfiction and self-help space. Over the years, I’ve worked with everyone from first-time authors to 6- and 7-figure authors who needed help clarifying, fixing, or scaling their book strategy.

Books are my favorite puzzle.

Not because they’re easy—but because when they’re structured correctly, everything else gets easier.

My Approach

Most authors don’t struggle because they’re bad writers.

They struggle because:

  • They start writing before they have clarity
  • They don’t know what belongs where
  • They’re trying to solve publishing or marketing problems before the book itself is solid

That’s why everything I do is built around a simple framework:

Plan. Write. Publish. Sell.

Each stage has a different job—and different tools.

When you do them in order, books move forward faster, feel lighter to work on, and perform better once they’re out in the world.

What I’m Known For

I’m often brought in when:

  • A first-time author has no idea where to start and wants a clear, proven path
  • An author has started writing and gotten stuck
  • A book feels “almost right” but not quite
  • Someone wants to fix structure without rewriting everything
  • An author wants to avoid vanity publishing or costly mistakes
  • A successful author wants their next book to work harder for their business

I’ve been called the "go-to book coach for 6- and 7-figure authors", but I work just as happily with newer authors who want to do things right the first time.

Structure is my specialty, and clarity is the outcome.

My Background

My background spans both sides of the publishing industry. I’m a USA Today bestselling author who has been traditionally published by major houses including Penguin, St. Martin’s Press, Random House, and Sourcebooks — and I’m also an independently published author. Earlier in my career, I worked inside traditional publishing as a Director of Marketing & PR, where I learned how books are positioned, sold, and scaled from the publisher’s side.

That combination gives me a rare, practical perspective on how publishing actually works—whether you’re publishing traditionally, independently, or building a hybrid career.

I’ve written 15+ award-winning and bestselling books across nonfiction and fiction, including:

What 7-Figure Authors Do Differently

I’m also the founder of the Bestseller Academy: Write a Self-Help Book in 30 Days, and the host of the Bestselling Author Writing Coach YouTube channel, where I share practical writing and publishing advice.

My work spans:

  • Traditional publishing
  • Independent publishing
  • Book coaching
  • Publishing strategy
  • Long-term book-based business models

I’ve worked as an author, a publisher, and a strategist—and I coach from all three perspectives.

How to Use This Site

Author.coach is designed to guide you, not overwhelm you.

If you’re new here, start with the stage that best matches where you are right now:

PLAN – Clarify what you’re writing and how it’s structured

WRITE – Turn that structure into a finished manuscript

PUBLISH – Get your book out professionally and confidently

SELL – Help the right readers find it

If you’re unsure where to begin, the Creative Work Plan is the best place to start.

And if you’ve done the work but something still feels off, coaching is available as a targeted way to diagnose and fix the problem.

One Last Thing

There’s no single “right” way to be an author.

But there is a right order.

My goal is to help you move through that order with clarity, confidence, and far less stress—so your book can do what it’s meant to do.

💙

Not Sure Where to Start?

If you’re early in the process—or you’ve started and something feels off—the best place to begin is with clarity.

The Creative Work Plan helps you:

  • Define what your book is really about
  • Clarify who it’s for and why it matters
  • Create a structure that actually works
  • Stop second-guessing every chapter

It’s designed to give you a clear path forward before you invest more time, energy, or money.
